Hermes Agent vs Hyperagent: which one saves you time?
· Document check · not retested · Cost: 0 NOK · about 4 min
Tags: agent, self-hosted, hosted
The problem
You are considering an AI agent for real work and wonder whether to host it yourself (Hermes) or use a hosted platform (Hyperagent).
The test (tools and cost)
Public documentation checked 2026-11-02: Nous Research Hermes Agent (MIT, install.sh available) and Hyperagent (hosted; Slack integration requires paid Slack according to their docs). No installation was finished here.
The result
Not retested. Verifiable from public sources:
Hermes Agent: open source (MIT), self-hosted, CLI/hermes setup, optional model provider.
Hyperagent: hosted agent with its own cloud machine per agent. Requires payment/subscription; Slack AI requires a paid Slack workspace according to Hyperagent docs.
Which one saves you time is not measured here.
Recipe (when you test yourself)
Decide the constraint first: must data stay on your own machine, or is hosted OK?
Hermes: follow the official install guide, then hermes setup.
Hyperagent: create an account, build one agent, measure time to the first useful answer.
Run the same three tasks on both. Note time, cost and where you get stuck.
Not retested. Document check 2026-11-02.
